Islam a peaceful religion?

26 07 2007

Rethink that. Is Islam a peaceful religion?

The Korean Pastor who led the mission to Afghanistan providing social aid to the area was killed last night with his body covered with bullet holes was tossed onto a highway, with the Islamic ‘peaceful’ terrorists declaring that they will execute the rest of the hostages by Thursday if their demands were not met.

Are the propaganda of radical Islamic being branded as peaceful really a peaceful faith or radically violent? You make the decision. While I support that military actions be taken against these murderers, on the hand, i do not agree with America’s policies of invading Iraq for the sake of the oil. By using a noble cause to enforce peace, American government’s interest in Iraq is purely for the oil and profit than an sincere interest in eradicating terrorism in the region.

The Gospel According to J.K. Rowling | Christianity Today | A Magazine of Evangelical Conviction

An evangelical view on Harry Potter and its relevance to the Christian Faith. I for one, watch the movies, all of the series in fact. While there are many noble ‘christian’ like values in the show such as the love of Harry’s mother that saved the baby from the power of Lord Voldemort, and among many others the struggle between good and evil. The question which rose from the first book was published and subsequently being made into movies, should Christians read or watch Harry Potters?

Let me know your views and why Christians cannot read or watch the movie, or Why not?

Unforgiving Spirit

24 07 2007

Mankind is naturally inclined to sin. Because of this, we’re surrounded by opportunities to forgive others. Perhaps we’ve been unfairly criticized, disappointed by a broken promise, or harmed financially or physically. Whatever the case, the list of wrongdoing in this broken world can be very long.

Peter wondered how often we must pardon a wrong. He asked Jesus if we should forgive “up to seven times.” In Matthew 18:21-22, Jesus replied, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to 70 times seven.” In other words, every single time.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean finding reasons to justify someone’s wrong behavior. It’s not about forgetting what happened or pretending it never occurred. That would amount to suppressing the pain and covering up the issue instead of working through it.

Genuine forgiveness requires deliberate action on our part. We acknowledge a wrong has been committed, but we also choose to release the offender from any obligation toward us. In essence, we say, “I will no longer hold this person’s unfair behavior against him.” We’re extending mercy, just as God did toward us.

We may think we’re punishing the wrongdoer. But we’re the ones hurt worst by our unforgiving attitude. Resentment is like sludge. It clogs the mind and heart. Untreated anger turns into bitterness. This hinders our relationships and keeps us from experiencing the Father’s love.

An unforgiving spirit is like poison in the soul. The only remedy is to forgive.

I usually skip through the content of these devotion newsletter but this one caught my eye. Unforgiving spirit….. after a couple of minutes of reflection and a trip to get my daily morning fix of coffee, i must admit, i have a problem in forgiving people, not as in forgive forgive but once that someone did something wrong, i will avoid developing a further relationship with that person and keeping it as purely acquaintances that will have almost nothing in common to talk to day to day basis. As i was pondering on this issue of forgiveness, it is to me, more than just releasing the person from the charge of guilt over a wrong thing.

The scripture states plainly, two attitudes that must precede from a forgiving heart – a heart that reflects God’s mercy and grace, this we have all been taught alot on the subject of forgiveness, but there is another step we all must need to do – reconciliation. Reconciliation involves more than just the first step of releasing someone from a charge of guilt, but extending and mending the relationship between the two parties. Just as Christ has reconcile us to God through His death, in our death to self, we reconcile to each other and to God. Reconciliation helps to destroy all bonds of hatred because you cannot truly reconcile unless you have love for the other person.

What will you give to defend the TRUTH?

23 07 2007

Many sources recently that brought burden to a single most important question to my life and perhaps to many God-fearing believers and disciples; What will you give to defend the TRUTH?

See how Rick Warren’s association with the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope and referring them as another denomination, where a few weeks ago, the pope refers the Roman Catholic Church as the only true Church, and the rest are fakes? And the Pope has officially said he has taken over the Vicar of Christ from the HOLY SPIRIT!? Such irreconcilable doctrines, now is reconcilable? Hardly, any common line can be drawn with the demonic apostate Roman Catholic Church!

Can now Christian accepts Mormonism? Whose founder claimed that God told him that all the other churches are wrong, and that God was once man, and man can become God, and Satan was the younger brother of Jesus? Can we Christians accept such doctrines and theology for the sake of accepting these CULTS? I will give the world to stand for the Truth, and proudly and boldly proclaim nothing except Jesus my Lord and the Truth HE represents – not the pope nor joseph smith.

Judgment against Prosperity Gospel

23 07 2007

The evangelist continued: “He’ll stop that lawsuit. … Greatness will be released in your job and finances and ministry and marriage even if you don’t have the resources or have two nickels to your name or don’t have a man to support you! Go to that phone and pledge $71.21 a month, and I prophesy to you that God will increase your greatness! Give now!”

This is just another TV evangelist on air making a strong statement of God’s blessings if they give to the ministry. On Christianity Today, recent poll of 1700+ people voted 71% on Prosperity Gospel as Heresy. Indeed so, where we saw so many preachers, evangelists, apostles, prophets, miracle healer etc falling into this heretical patterns of greed.

In the days to come, Apostle Paul’s warning to young Timothy is as relevant today as it is 2000 years ago

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times, some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” 1 Tim 4:1-2,

“If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain! But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Tim 6:3-10.

I wonder how many of us listened to preachings that so many super-preachers taught for the sake of great financial greed, in hope to appear godly among people, they use the name of Christ to cover up the ugliness of their greed. Like the warnings to the Church in Laodicea, who boast of their great wealth and in need of nothing, God’s sober warning to them, repent, and come back and see the truth of the reality that they are naked, poor, pitiful, and wretched! Wealth is but a responsibility, God wants us to put Him first, not wealth.

Too much grace

20 07 2007

Mercy had an interesting encounter recently with a christian from a certain church that emphasized on Grace. The question of “Once saved always saved” that one would question the position of a Christian who received Jesus but continue to Sin, will he or she go to heaven?

The idea of once saved always saved, needs to be examined under a common ground – that a Christian when he or she said the Sinner’s prayer, is saved. For all who call on the name of Jesus shall be saved! But where does that leads us? We all have a responsibility in our walk with Jesus, Jesus has paid the full penalty of our iniquities on the Cross and now we are charged to walk right with him, that in short, our conversion must bring forth fruits of repentance, or the axe will be there to cut down all the trees that do not bear fruits.

Does that to mean we have to work for our salvation? No, by His Grace, we are saved with no merit on our own, but we are charged with the responsibility to work out our salvation with fear and wonder. The consistency of the message that we ought to look out that we might not fall through the New Testament is clear. That many will fall away in the end times, and many who will call out to Jesus Jesus, but they will not be let into the Kingdom of God.

When we take the stand of this church’s teachings, where is the FEAR OF GOD? that we have the license to sin? There ought to be a balance, and most important, the fear of the Lord is beginning of all wisdoms! Not holding on to an extreme view of God’s grace for us!

Many will fall away

18 07 2007

There will come a day where many will fall away from the faith. The Christianity of today is divided into two camps, one who took their faith seriously, and one who are playing with their faith; thinking that their sinners prayers can save them and their wickedness and evil ways will go unnoticed under God’s Grace. It is the time now, that we must choose the easy way or the right way.

The burden of the Church and its destiny is weighing heavily on my heart for the last few days; that God is putting the Church on the balance scale and be weighed. God is separating the sheep and the goat, for He is coming real soon for His people. There will be many who will call out to Him, but He won’t know them, because while they profess Jesus as Lord and Saviour, their lifestyles are far from being His Children. It is time, and the warning is for me as well, how long can we continue to live like what we are living without any reprieve or consequences, that while my God loves us so much, He cannot deny His own holiness and righteous wrath that has been held back so long. This time, belongs to God and He will soon unfold the remaining chapters in the Book of Revelation very soon, that our faith will be put to the test, but God’s children, do not be despair or lose hope for our hope is in Christ, and He is with us till the end of Age.

Roman catholic romancing with 666

17 07 2007

http://www.biblelight.net/666.htm

While this post would offend many, but it is my hope to represent the truth and fiercely defend it. This is to expose the demonic ugliness of the Anti Christ organisation call the Roman Catholics and to tear down the facade of the papacy lie. There is only one High Priest that’s Christ who is interceding for us at the right hand of God our Father. Choose today whom we shall serve, God, or the agent of this fallen world – the pope.

I know a few great catholic friends, but being a sincere catholic does not absolve one from the charge of Marian worship, and ultimately under the umbrella of the sinister, and demonic church call the Roman Catholic. Come out of her, all God’s people that we will not share in her judgment which God will pour out against. Do not fraternized and romanced with the Roman Catholic or share in her practises of idol worship, marian worship, for God’s wrath is against her.

A sinister Vatican and Catholicism

15 07 2007

Pope Benedict XVI has ignited controversy around the world by approving a document saying non-Catholic Christian communities are either defective or not true churches. Only the Roman Catholic Church provides the true path to salvation. The document states, “Christ established here on earth only one church,” reasserting the primacy of Catholicism.

The above statement was officially released by the Pope on the 11th July.  The closing chapters of “History” as we know it, will be the emerging one-world religion in the Roman Catholics through their ecumenical movement, and together with the new-age ridden Emergent Church and a host of other movements within the Protestant churches will lead us through the chapters of Revelation till the Harlot who will sits once again on the head of the Beast. To all catholics, i pray your eyes be opened to the demonic doctrines and deceptions perpetrated by the Roman Catholic Church and come out of her, the harlot who will be judged! Come out of her and turn to Jesus, who ALONE can save you, not the pope.

Picture of an end-time prophet?

15 07 2007

What does the end-time prophet look like? A man in thousand dollars GUCCI suit with a mission to reach the world with a bulk of friendly messages of glory and riches beyond this life and more glory and riches when we have Jesus?

Looking at the biblical prophets that we see through the Old Testament, we see prophets as the controversial figure of anti-establishment, Samuel among the first, in his generation, to lead a nation from theocracy to monarchy, from sheer unbelief to gross injustice in the land, to anointing two kings, one of the flesh – Saul, and one who pleases God – King David. Elijah, in the time of idolatry and rebellion of King Ahab and Jezebel, Jeremiah in the exile of Israel, all bearing one single message – a message of God’s wrath and redemption through repentance.

It stood in contrast to today’s prophets, where we see the modern day prophets soaring in popularity rather than persecution, were greeted warmly rather than a scorn by the vulgar crowd, and should their message be honey to their ears, these prophets had accumulated treasures on earth, so they too had their rewards here on earth.

God’s message today is the same in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, it is the sinful condition of man that we ought to come to terms, and in finding that the only solution to our problem is Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, for the wages of Sin is death and all who sinned must die, that Christ who is perfect, without sin even though tested, and tempted did not fall became the perfect lamb who died in our place. That whosoever believes in Jesus and what He has done, will inherit eternal life, and that’s but a part of it, from henceforth, we are commanded to love, to make disciples, to tell people about the Good News. All seeds planted must bear forth fruits and there we must bear fruits that make us more like Christ each day, for what branches and fruits would be to be different from the vine but to be an imitation of it?

Key step to walking with God

12 07 2007

I’ve learned one important lesson – Forgiveness is the key to intimacy with God. I’ve struggled with this, to forgive people who has done me wrong and the hardest to forgive is ‘myself’ for all the terrible things i’ve done. I was listening to this song “Grace Like Rain” which is a re-make of Amazing Grace over and over again till the message hit me hard, which is like the Holy Spirit changing something inside of me and told me, forgiveness opens the door to intimacy with God and to get connected with God Almighty on a level above the daily grind of life. I have often scorned on the idea of going on a spiritual ride about getting all hyped up with fluffy spirituality, and i am wrong. It is in fact now considered vulgar to live like what the world wants us to live, and we are commanded to live by faith not by sight, to walk in the Spirit, not by our flesh, to trust in the Lord with all my heart, soul and mind, and not on my circumstances! I am broke, without a single cent and i proudly declare I am rich in Christ not necessarily wealth, and i do not give a hoot about having lots of money, but rich in my intimacy with Him, knowing He provides my next meal, everything that i will need, nothing more, nothing less, and all He wants, is i walk faithfully and in obedience. To do that, is i need to forgive those who has done me wrong, Oh so many, and forgiving the worst sinner ever – Daniel Ho, and i need to let go of my burden, guilt, sin, at the foot of the Cross. Lord, I cannot comprehend the enormity of His Grace and His Love…… i probably will never ever understand

A deeper walk with God

10 07 2007

Different Seasons

In life, we can choose what we can do, what we will do; most will choose career, relationship, money, than what really matters. As i read through the book of Matthew, there is a sharp contrast to how we want to position ourselves in relation to the world and to the Kingdom of God. We were told, choose today whom we shall serve – money or God. As I grow older, now at 30, realising i am in quite a mess of my life, no direction, nothing i am passionate about, and truly lost as if i was a 12 year old lad. What is it meant to have a deeper walk with God? I vaguely remember i did, once upon a time, now it is about me finding that narrow back to having an intimate relationship with God. Once in a while, God will jolt you out of the mundane life and beckons you to dare walk closer to Him and go on a journey together. Oh how i love it.

A dead cat

8 07 2007

A cat lay motionless along the path with blood dripping off its nose, with several marks of eing beaten and i can imagine everyone who walked past would have felt anything about another dead cat.

I felt a deep sense of sorry for the passing of this cat, another thing which used to be alive, cute and perhaps a good companion to someone, now another trophy of the wickedness only Man are capable of committing.

Man is the only creature on planet earth capable of such evil, to kill indiscriminately and without fear of divine recourse and retribution. We are conditioned from birth about death, as if we are being prepared for that eventuality.

O what victory when Christ has defeated Death; O where is thy sting O Death that i should mortally fear, for now, death is but a door to a certainty of where i truly belong.
