My Mandate

But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 1:5-6.

There are in my opinion, four types of christians in the Church today. Disclaimer: These are not meant to say that they are not saved, but just reflecting on the various conditions of each christian.

The hearty Christian
This Christian is a follower, one who delights and squeel at every miracles, soaking in the awesome presence and exhuberance of the worship, and yea! There he goes again, but when the worship or church service is over, this christian leaves the santuary and went back to the world. This christian is led by the emotions, christianity injects the faith adrenaline to enable him or her to live by the moment of godliness and after that, it is all struggles and defeats

The Mr Knowledgable Christian
This christian attends every prophetic conference, bible studies, and may even own a hundreds of books on theology, doctrines, and books so thick, you can probably doze off just looking at the thickness of each book. The faith is rationalized by the intellectual understanding of God’s Words, and lacking the connection. This christian might not even see the need to attend festival of praise or worship or even fellowshipping with each other! This Christian might for a season lead a life of victories, but the victories are hollow, lacking depth and lacking consistency, and he is despaired because in the end he or she will realised, the more he or she knows, the less this christian actually knows, and the vicious cycle starts again.

The BC Christian (Bo Chup)
These christians come to church for every other reasons other than knowing God, worshipping God or listening to a great sermon. They love companies of friends, the opportunity to know girls or to get close to that guy, or to pick up an instrument for free! And even join up some social activities to really waste the sunday afternoon away. Their bible might be spanking new, for they have never touch it, except chucking it in the bag to go to church. Life is no different before and after they have become christian. They are more concerned about the world, making money, becoming the whos who in the society and perhaps even coming into the showbusiness and being a christian too might be too cool.

The Disciple
The fourth type of Christian is perhaps the rarest, (For wide is the road that leads to death, and many are going down that road, and narrow is the gate that leads to life, for few will find it), the toughest, because it requires us to sacrifice ALL, yet man’s narrow view is that we never see beyond that sacrifice, is that God will gave us ALL, and more – Eternal Life. The life of a disciple is first a Crucified life! That we crucified our lives daily on that cross and our lives is not our own but of Christ! We dare to speak the truth, no more lying! We dare to stand up for God, no more compromises. We dare to claim the generation for Jesus, no more lying down on our comfort zone and just enjoy a bit of desperation band. It is time, to rise up and be a disciple, one who lives and breathes and do God’s work and live out His Word in us, that in that, God’s love is made complete in US!

God help me, to be the fourth type of christian, a radical disciple! One who studies your word, read them, and do them! Holy Spirit, please write the Word of Life on the tablet of my heart and that i might speak LIFE and lead others to the Light! I invite you dear Holy Spirit now, to take the throne of my heart, to lead me, to guide me, to talk to me, to teach me, to help me to pray, to help me to love and forgive, to help me be a testimony in my work place, to be a comforter to others, to be an encourager, to be a blessing to others, and most important of all, to reflect Jesus. Amen!

Church sued over exorcism

A woman sue Novena church for performing exorcism on her. Another case of church being sued. This really give a bad light on the Novena Church which apparently is a catholic church, and it is either those priests lying or the woman is. In either case, it is just sad that the catholic church among many other controversies like child sexual abuse, has added another to their list in the Hall of Shames.

Thy Glory

As i was conversing with God during the lunch break, praying for Mercy and giving glory to God, the presence of God just surrounded me when i glorify God.

He is exalted in the heavens! That Lord, you do what you decree, and no one, can frustrate your plans and Lord, yet, as awesome as your presence and glory is, you desire us to come to you daily on that holy mountain to worship you! Lord, the insignificant me is exchanged the rights as a Child of God and to come into Your presence rightfully. Lord you could have cancel our debt, but Lord, you want our hearts to be changed more and more into your presence, and the issue is not our baggages. You first desire our worship and love, and Lord, in your time, you will restore us!

Lord, i want to hear you everyday! I want to see you face to face everyday, Lord i will die from hunger and thirst if i am not filled or satisfied with Your goodness, Your Word, Your fellowship and ultimately Your Approval in my life! Lord, let my heart be totally sold out for you!

Fruits of wickedness – Mormonism

Mormon leader, Warren Jeffs one of the wanted men by FBI has been arrested, whose fruits of wickedness including forcing underaged girls to marry, having sex with his followers, brainwashing his believers to think he is annointed, and unfallible. One of the strongest fruits of demonic deceit lies in the frontier of cults and extreme groups, in which Mormons, also known as the Church of the Latter day saints (They have a church in Newton area). Beware when talking to these cultists!

The Gospel of Jesus can change Singapore

One of the main reasons why the 18th century Evangelicals like William Wilberforce are so powerful in their impact of England because they believe that the Gospel of Jesus can impact and change the social fabric of England!

I believe that the Gospel of Jesus can impact and change Singapore and the world if we only walk in the Spirit and let our heart be sold totally for God! God is not looking for men with abilities or talents, but He is looking for a man whose heart is after God!

The ‘Blank Bible’

This is a book that i want to get in future! The works of Jonathan Edwards – Vol 24 “The Blank Bible” which contains some of the most influential writings and thinkings of Jonathan Edwards with regards to Christianity, Philosophy and Psychology.

Guess i will need to save up for this cos it is US$200.00 even in the Amazon! A definite must-read. I wonder if SKS has this book, i shall go and check it out this weekend or the next. Saw a book on the Writings of Jonathan Edwards at Borders, and so tempted to go and get it but decided against it, as i need to be reminded of being prudent.  

Wait and hope in the Lord

“Yet this i call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore i will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:21-26

One of the great lessons in life, is to wait. Waiting in the presence of God for Him to move. We can dream, plan, but unless God moves before us, our plans are futile and laid to waste. God has a season, He moves in His time, tho we can make plans and take the necessary steps, I believe, waiting patiently and keeping vigil in the silent wait is important. A few things i’m waiting for God to open doors for breakthrough – financially through my new venture, and the time to get married with Mercy! We both agreed to wait till the right time and I love Mercy! And oh I love God too!

I am coming after you!

Fell in love with this song “Refuse to be denied” by Desperation Band. It speaks of a desperation to come into the presence of God. Let this be the thirst to drive everyone to chase after God! Please my dear christian brothers and sisters! Time to shake off your worldliness, and time to get serious with God, for He is coming back soon! Real Soon! He will come back like a thief, and He will sift through the church and separate the goats from the sheeps and chaft will fall off from the grain and there will be a GREAT shaking that will take place. Can you feel its coming? That tidal wave of the Spirit of God that Christians no longer contend with just walking in their rituals, or taking refuge in their wealth of knowledge but this is THE TIME, to walk in the Spirit, to move in the Spirit and through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we will began to break through with the Word of God to slice through the fog of this worldly kingdom of wickedness and bring light to the world that has yet to know Jesus! Let’s refuse to be denied! Let’s press on to the holy of holies, not just contented to stay in the courtyard of the gentile, for it is YOUR RIGHT to enter into the holy of holies and behold the awesome glory of God and commune with Him!

Moments in life

Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. – House by the Lake.

Saw this quote on Shiyan’s blog and it is from the movie “House by the Lake” (I think i got the title right) where Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock acted in (re-run of Speed), and this time is definitely a slower, and more soapy movie than Speed. Anyway when i saw this quote, i am immediately pondering what moment in life that have taken my breath away. The days i spent in Grace Assembly with the encounters with God, my first love – Deborah where we gotta know each other in one of the youth camps, or with Laura, or Simone? Those are definitely happier moments, but frankly when i need to put a defining moment that really took my breath away, there are only four incidents in my life till now that completely and utterly took my breath away….

My walk with God. Every minute He spoke, every encounters over the week, the face of Christ on every christians i met, from Jenn, Vincent, Pastor Chong Yew and others, and the electrifying awesome presence i shared many times in my walk, in my prayers, in my conversation with God.

My mum! Yes, the night that my mum told me she love me, and i told her i love her. Yesh.

The moments i spent with my best of friends – Jenn, and Vincent. I realised in life, besides the girl i love and i will marry, these two men are a gift to me from God. They are treasures and they are one of the many reasons what i am today. I love these two brothers!

Mercy – I’ve never felt the way i felt with Simone or Laura as i have with Mercy, and i know without a shadow of doubt, this is the girl i will want to spend my life with, and marry her, and protect her, and make her laugh. I love this girl with all my heart! (of course, she ranks after God)!

Yup, the four moments that stole my breath away and i thank God for these people, i thank God for who He is, a grateful heart is better than a thousand sacrifices, and Lord, i thank you!

Beating the blues

As i went to the bank to pay some bills, i was praying, actually i was pleading for God’s intervention. I pleaded with His Mercy and His unfailing faithfulness! That Lord, will do a great miracle in this hour of great need, and i pray that He will grant us favour. I know my pleading pleased Him cos I felt his presence there and then along the street that one as insignificant me in the eyes of many, but to God, i am but a Child He loves and He longs to have fellowship with! I finished reading the book on Spiritual Warfare by Richard Ing, and it was a great book of encouragement especially the last chapter on the Coming Tsunami, that God will bring about a flood, a tsunami of chastenings, either we conform to the standards of God, or we will be washed away, for God will raise up an army in this last days to push the Kingdom of Satan back and claim lives for Kingdom of God! Amen! Let’s encourage each other and spur each other all the more we see the DAY approaches.

Why am i not reaching out? why am i not healing those who are sick around me? Why am i not teaching or encouraging someone today? Why are we not showing those who are hurting around us that Jesus LOVES THEM! ARGH! LORD, break our hearts into a million pieces and mould it and shape it like YOURS O GOD! that we will feel the urgency to GO OUT to tell them about Jesus!

Heart of a disciple maker

Light

As i was going home and pondering on the discussion and argument i had with Mercy at the pool, and trying to place together a humble discourse of the subject of the focus of the end-time christians.

In the end times, today, i realised there are many christians who are struggling to lead a victorious walk as they ought to, but can’t. Mercy shared that the key to Kingdom Living reflected in the days before Adam and Eve sinned, we should be having an active relationship with God. The reason why christians today are not walking in signs and wonders, or be translated to heavens, and seeing chariots of fire, is because we do not believe enough or intensely.

I believe Christianity hangs on the pivot of a faith that’s personal and relational. It is fundamental for a christian to walk in the Spirit, and in Truth for without these two, we can’t be a true extravagant worshipper, and our desire ought to be first and foremost to desire to converse with God as Moses did, or to see God face to face as it is a privilege of a child to his father.

God revealed something while i was walking home from the MRT Station that the Word of God illuminates within us, and our eyes to see God. Luke 11:33-36. I believe, for an unregenerated man, his soul and spirit is darkened beyond dark, and it is the work of the Holy Spirit who works the creation power to regenerate and make our spirit quickened and come alive when we put our faith in Christ through His death and resurrection.

As we press on in our reading of His Word, i cannot but emphasize the importance of knowing and not just knowing, but LOVING the Word of God. Time and time again, Jesus brought attention to the importance of the Word of God. Jesus used the Word of God in his trials in the wilderness when tempted by Satan. Jesus likened the Word of God to illuminate our Spirit and Soul, and bringing us light, light to the world, but at the same time, we can finally see! Our Spiritual eyes awake to the reality of God in all His awesomeness. The Word of God is to us food, and when we feed our spirit man the Word of God, we grew strong in our activities – moving in the spirit, performing signs and miracles in accordance to His Will – the written word and of course, Rhema, the revelation. We must always bearing in mind, that we cannot understand the Word of God on our own merit, and the teacher is the Holy Spirit that lives in us. We became the temple within where God dwells, the holy of holies, and through the Word of God, we will know the truth, and to seek Him in Spirit and in Truth. And i pray that these shall motivate us to live in mutual edification and encouragement to each other, and more so, that we all will adopt the Kingdom mindset that we are created in DELIGHT to worship our Father, King and God.
