A wounded worshipper

After watching a teenage nephew and two nieces die, Michael Card shook his fist at God—only to learn in the process that true worship requires woundedness and lament. Read more on Christianity Today. Can i come before God in lament and wounded? Yes. In that, the beauty of such, in our brokeness, we realised our need for a Saviour, for a heavenly father who cares and despite the loss, the seemingly disaster, and that i can sing “All is well with my soul”.

Indeed! Something I myself have learned, but never was able to put words to express such things, is this which was said on the radio here locally yesterday. ‘There are some things a Christian can never learn, except through suffering.’ Michael Card, like so many of us, have learned this (and rather, are still learning day after day), the real power than can indeed come with a broken heart and shaken emotions.
